<image:caption>Small town living is a special kind of living. I have lived in northeastern Colorado my entire life, except for a short 5 years in Olympia, WA. I understand small town life. I decided to become a therapist 9 years ago and completed my Masters Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Northcentral University. My passion for helping families and individuals heal led me to specialize in Medical Family Therapy and to also receive advance training in EMDR therapy. Sometimes life overwhelms us, but it doesn’t have to. I believe we all have the potential to control the way we react to situations we face.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Trauma Therapy Have you ever wondered why certain smells, sounds, or sights make you feel shaky or like you can’t breathe? Have you ever been in a situation that makes you want to run or hide? Do you feel like you are always looking over your shoulder, expecting something to happen? Those can all be signs of past trauma, and whether your brain remembers it or not, your body remembers everything that has happened to you since your were born. <image:title>KIDS!! - Do I see kids?</image:title>
<image:caption>Let me be honest here. When I started this journey, I did not want to do therapy with kids. I thought I wanted to work only with adults. Kids break my heart, I don’t want them to hurt. I want to take them home and be “grandma” and make cookies and read books and play games. But I soon realized that to have emotionally health adults, we have to address issues our kids are facing. Our kids have to deal with so much these days. And I have discovered I can play and read books and do art and even cook-all in the therapy setting. Kids toys are their words. How they play reveals a lot. So I have completely changed my mindset about working with kids. I want to help them now, when they are young, so when they are adults, they don’t need me or any other therapist.</image:caption>
